My work oscillates between the second and third dimension, examining the concrete nature of sculpture in relation to the illusory space of painting. Challenging the act of seeing, carefully crafted geometric constructions create the illusion of three-dimensional space while simultaneously undermining their plausibility as objects in subtle ways. Investigating outdated formalisms and Modernist trends, my “object” paintings instigate a controlled confrontation between reality and illusion.
