MFA 2018
Photography, 2017, 20"w x 30"h
My work at Cranbrook Academy of Art explores personal relationships to trauma and loss through constructed juxtaposition. I take the subjects or objects that I photograph and place them in uncanny environments. Through these constructed realities I seek to leave the viewer disoriented but still with a sense of familiarity. Lately, I have been drawn to literature that has a queer narrative. I use these narratives to look inward and reflect on my relationship with family, lovers and mortality and the universe.
