To work with the landscape is to bring the landscape with you when you leave it. My work is about the time spent in a place. It is about the emotional and physical tax of moving, breathing and touching within a space. The accumulation and erosion of paint within my work mirrors these phenomenological experiences within the landscape and forms an image that is tangibly linked to bodily sensations. These paintings function as more than realistically rendered images of nature. They are talismans of memory and emotion, nostalgia and desire.
