My work is based off two major themes: Bling and African American histories. The material and the ideas of adornment are conflated to create work that represents Bling, adornment, and my history. This collection is inspired by historical origins, combined with the ideology and fascination of a dissected, filtered culture. Often, centered on the notion of how African American culture has been, and is being, appropriated and exploited.
