wood, 2014, 30"w x 13.5"h x 60"d
I’m fascinated by the social and cultural significance of the things that populate our domestic spaces, and I want to explore meaning through the production of new furniture objects. These projects are based on my interest in reconsidering applications for low-tech craft techniques. Coopering is a type of wood joinery traditionally used to make barrels. In this case, multiple pieces of low-grade and reclaimed lumber have been coopered together to create an open volume to be filled and/or used as a table surface.
