My images are influenced by scientific experimentation, cosmology and biology. I want my paintings to express a feeling of scientific discovery and to try to engage the painted forms in relationships with each other and their surroundings. I don’t mean for these paintings to be overly academic. Instead, I would like people to spot abstract relationships leading to their own connections and imagined narratives. I prefer to see them as a play between polar opposites such as placing a lighthearted, playful quirkiness against a background of nothingness. I also see layers of information that stem from my own busy mindset that amalgamates into Frankenstein-like forms.
