One of Us (Cancer series)

This cancer victim includes the viewer in the space of the painting. Using the mirror, she conveys a message: You could be one of us. The model that I used for this series of paintings has inspired me to come up with the ideas behind every piece. Shahrzad was fighting with cancer, and her story can be felt through each painting. Before she passed away, she founded a charity to raise awareness for bone marrow donations. My wish is to raise awareness and inspire more people to join the bone marrow registry and save lives before it’s too late.
