2012, Ceramic, chain, concrete, 17"w x 38"h
I want to visualize structures in empty space. The chains depict the tension between the ceramic objects and the concrete geometric pieces and guide the intention of the structure. The small light red balls are the vertices that also serve as guides. Without these chains, nothing exists in the space between the objects (except for air). The two different materials (concrete and ceramic) allow the audience to visually feel the contrast in weight. The contrast emphasizes tension.
