Though I typically work in clay, the immediacy available through mark making on paper has made drawing a vital part of my practice during my time at Cranbrook. Through my quick drawings or long endurance drawings, my ceramics have developed into a symbiotic relationship with the works on paper. In Charmer, I am pushing intensity and endurance to finish in one sitting. Though there is fervency present, the sharp edges of erratic arm movements are softened by a fog of becoming and/or unbecoming. It is an attempt to look at how thoughts are formed and unformed in our complex minds.
