This piece is part of a group of works in which I depict a dichotomy: feeling happy for being able to visit my family and place of origin while having an uncanny feeling, one stemming from my reason to visit—the loss of my father. By discovering or rediscovering things about myself (that may not be pleasant memories), I am looking to position myself in a place where being aware of personal traumas, failures and disappointments arise as essential experiences that may trigger a shift within my process of conceptualization and image production.
