The paintings are silly and an attempt to critique and satirize contemporary Western society by using the history of painting and its relationship to wealth and indulgence. My work is an anachronistic interpretation of the lifestyle of inhabitants, myself included, in the developed world. It fuses modern narratives and historical language in an attempt to talk about material wealth, alienation, technology and meaningless abundance. Ultimately it questions why, despite all our luxuries, we are still unsatisfied, detached and consequently unhappy.
