3-D printed PLA, polypropylene rope, 2018, 12"w x 16"h x 12"d
My work examines the relationship between art, design and craft by using digital fabrication alongside traditional, analog processes. I create objects that incite conversation about their materiality and question the relevance of authorship in perceived values of digitally manufactured objects. The 3-D printed lattice structures in Tension Loop are dependent on a hand-woven connection to bind the pieces together, alluding to digital fabrication’s dependence on a human component.
