Drawing inspiration and technical understanding from the works of master painters, my work tends toward the representation of classical figures centered in contemporary narrative. The current piece on display seeks to explore the disturbing historical representation of women in art, through the use of blatantly misogynistic imagery and themes. In the upcoming exhibition “Violence, Violence, Violencia!” my intention is grounded in the exploration of widely accessible representations of violence in the Internet age.
