2010, Pinhole photography, 27"w x 27"h
I am inspired by travels to my homeland of Turkey; the documentary images capture the intrinsic beauty of the land and its people. I aim to call attention to human nature by offering honest scenes of everyday life through the virtual window of photography or photo-based installations, which I accomplish most of the time with a pinhole camera and straight, unedited prints. There is nothing fake about pinhole photography as it shows a surface of reality from another dimension. It is like our minds; it reflects simultaneous and multiple realities in the same time/space.
