Jayne is a portrait made up of painted pixels and is influenced by the paintings of Chuck Close. Up close, the painting appears to be random coloured circles. From afar, it will reveal the face of a girl I call Jayne. At the time this work was created, I was interested in colour theory, as well as experimenting with how a piece of art looks up close versus from a distance. Since I have mostly worked with portraiture, I wanted to investigate how much a face can be broken down into basic dots of colour and still be recognizable.
