Graphite on paper, 2016, 24"w x 36"h
This piece serves as an investigation into notions of place and memory and recreations of memory both individually and collectively. The questions I am most interested in exploring are: Who gets to occupy public space literally and figuratively? Why have we given certain events, icons and people importance over others in how we remember them? Who gets to write the narrative of the collective memory?
