2012, Archival pigment prints on stretched canvas, 40"w x 40"h
These prints are from a series of works titled Bomshell based on a video work of the same title. They are inspired by bombshells from the ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s, such as Sophia Loren, Stella Stevens, Elke, Raquel Welch and Sharon Tate. The style is influenced by graffiti, marbleized paper patterns, and the color sensitivity of artist Ed Paschke. The works are created digitally using a software particle painting engine written in C++ and open GL. It feels very similar to spray painting except that I can use a mouse or my fingers on a tablet instead.
