Landscapes made of sky, grass, concrete and pavement created with a printmaking sensibility emerge as abstract landscapes illustrating the patterns, colours and textures of Toronto. My paintings are created through a process of construction and destruction. Every stroke and pour validates the last one, a gesture of approval and deprecation. These automatic paintings are created through layers of poured paint and gestures. Inspired by a love for natural textures, I attempt to push the alchemy and structure of paint to mimic patters and reactions that are seen in nature.
