Wood, paint, 2016, 12.5"w x 24.2"h x 11.4"d
I enjoy scavenging for scraps of wood—discarded and unworthy—and giving them new life and meaning. The material speaks to me. The conversation lies within their curves and discretions of what they once were and how they were used. Their crevasses, filled with leftover dirt and other materials they once seemed useful for, help to justify the next step of creation. I react to the story they once told, leasing out a new life of sense and wonder.
