Through an exploration of the grotesque, my use of contemporary, improper bodily imagery reveals parts of the human experience that are often ignored or denied. My playful process is examined through the conversations created between the works, enhancing the viewer’s perception of structure, situation and space. I investigate unsettling textures, colors and relationships of the body as a metaphor for what I feel is an important aspect of the human experience: our need and desire to touch and destroy.
