This piece attempts to address mindfulness—a state of constant being in the present. The illuminated text, harnessed to an image of implosion/explosion, evokes a heartbeat. Certainly one’s pulse is the most persistent reminder that one is alive; that one is always changing. The light is given by a set of “angel eyes,” the same super-bright, cold fluorescent bulbs that are used in automobile headlights.
