Depression is difficult to fix. It’s like a light fog settling in, slowly becoming denser, until it’s hard to see anything else. Sometimes it’s possible to peek through the gloom, and I can see the good parts of life and feel a little happier. But most of the time it’s hard to see even myself. I find just enough motivation to do the bare minimum and nothing more, accepting the fog around me as a permanent condition. Only when the fog is light can I see how secluded I’ve become, and only then can I begin to reach out and ask for help.
