2011-2012, Mixed media installation
My artwork favors a positive view of life; I want my art to be uplifting and increase happiness. Before You Die allows viewers to actively contribute to an artwork. The top string contains the items on my personal bucket list. The middle string contains responses from people I came across. The bottom strings allow people to contribute their own life goals. The results are intimate; each answer is a glimpse into the life of the responder. I hope that by reading others’ responses, people contemplate their own life goals and actively work to complete them.
