The Wildfire Series is part of a larger series of photographs made in this area of Texas. The title of the larger series is Where I Live: North Texas Landscapes. A major component of this series is the human relationship to the land. This group of photographs is especially about the residue of disaster and the beauty that often comes from things we normally consider negative. I don’t get any pleasure from the animal or human suffering that comes with these fires, but I do find solace in the aftermath.
