Handwoven cloth, avocado dye, 2019, 20"w x 25"h
“Tangential subjects come into view. The thoughts, however, can, I believe, be traced back to the event of a thread.” —Anni Albers
Cloth holds and radiates history and life. Each moment in the process of weaving is tied to multiple actions and consequences. My practice explores sensitivity and relational development through weaving. Concerns about codependence, emotional dissonance and self-reflexivity charge my process. My weavings suggest effort, scars, sustained growth and compromise. As they hold space, their quiet energy welcomes the viewer to uncover secrets of a life lived.
