Oil on linen 2019 16"w x 20"h
Born to a fisherman, I have a strong connection to the ocean, with countless hours at sea accumulated throughout my life. The open ocean is a visual that is burned into my memory. The sea is a force that displays the fluidity of change in an extreme way. In constant motion, the ocean is life-giving and life-taking. A continuous contrast between pleasure and danger. Through my artistic process, I explore the idea of memory and nostalgia as well as the human desire to experience change.
