Paper collage and oil on panel 2018 10"w x 10"h x 1.5"d
By manipulating family photos, I go beyond the properties of photography to expose unconscious optics. Reading, rereading and misreading these images becomes an active form of intervention that allows me to inscribe new narratives into already existing images. In becoming the narrator, I project my own feelings onto the images as I work them, revealing alternate stories beneath or beyond their surface.
