2011, Burnt umber acrylic, black gesso, white gesso, wood chips and gloss medium, 30"w x 30"h
I am interested in single-color paintings and making art with wood chips. For me, the wood chips are small puzzle pieces, and I find the right places for each of them. Some fit perfectly, and some don’t. This process fits with my theory of life——things don’t always work as perfectly as I want, and there is a reason behind everything. Each wood chip comes from a different place, and I express my vision of words and feelings with them. It is a very meditative and playful process for me.
