Intersections: Black

This work invites viewers to look at thrown work from a new perspective. The slices in my thrown vessels make voids within the pieces, which make the viewer want to look deeper and see parts of traditionally functional objects that would be impossible to see otherwise. These voids reveal more information about the pieces and show a new shape made from the form, emphasized by the great care I take to make the edges of the cuts. I create a way for people to look at these pieces in a new light while showing the vast effect of combining 2-D and 3-D.

Due to the building guidelines that are in place in response to the COVID-19 situation, we are unable to install a new art exhibit in 2020 in our Farmington Hills, Michigan and Fort Worth, Texas offices.

Thankfully, the majority of artists who currently have their work on display in our Michigan and Texas locations have graciously allowed us to continue to do so for another year, through the spring of 2021. We would like to extend a huge thank you to those artists and we look forward to continuing with a new exhibition in the summer of 2021.
