I am interested in the transmutation of dirt and plastic. Transience and permanence, irreproducibility and manufacturability, vibrancy and subtlety are contrasts manifested in these materials. By synthesizing and distorting these properties, I hope to create work that wavers between identities, existing as elemental and man-made objects. I endeavor to traverse the boundary between painting and sculpture, using color and surface to reference organic topographies and modernist painting.
