Painting has proven itself to be a perpetually changing art form. Artists and their work evolve with the emergence of new materials, application techniques and movements. In this series, using encaustic wax on scratchboard allows me to create works that will change over time. As the pieces get older, the scratchboard will wear away as the pieces are moved, handled and bumped. The wear on the support will be accentuated by the fluidity of the wax application and over time will create a series of ever-evolving works.
