Holding a student visa and living in the United States for five years, I have been trying to create a sense of resurrection in my paintings. Recently, I have focused on recreating myself as a female and male combined, a hero living in an imaginary, theatrical and dreamlike world. I want to destabilize the sense of history and conventional narratives that are often associated with painting in my own cultural context and Western cultural contexts and reconstruct a world of dreams and theatrical activities in my paintings.
