What I do is linked to my childhood and my grandmother. As I create work I see the mark of my grandmother revealed there. The stroke of a brush speaks of her creative fingers. The pattern of subtle plate-tone in my prints reflects the priceless resonance of waking in her home with birds trilling in the trees outside her open windows. Every texture in the clay or sculpture beneath my fingers is a memorial to her sweet grace. The canvas or paper reflects the processes of production in my work, but the peace that pervades here has been drawn from the deep well of the love of a grandmother.
