Every integer greater than one is either a prime number or can be represented as the product of prime numbers. Because each product is unique, positive integers can be represented as unique rooted trees known as Matula numbers. Those trees that have the same structure can be represented by a single symbol, where different numbers are labeled by highlighting the appropriate root. Using a Processing Java library and Scalable Vector Graphics (SVGs), I have created a representation of the digits of pi in which each digit is represented by a highlighted Matula number symbol that I designed.
