My passion for science fiction has inspired a lifelong pursuit of astronomy, spaceflight and science. My paintings are a means of satisfying my curiosity and imagination as I study stars, planets, nebulae and galaxies through NASA’s websites. These experiments fuse reality and fantasy to create sublime fields devoid of a point of reference. Glazed layers of vibrant, contemporary colors galvanize and animate the oft-perceived dark, lifeless realms of outer space. Various depths of splashed mineral spirits and halos of orbs can be viewed cosmically and microscopically.
