My work explores—often through sources in literature—manifestations of the unconscious or the invisible in the visible world. I am deeply attached to the physical aspects of art and producing it by hand; the history and meaning of materials and processes are central to my visual practice, research and teaching. Firenze 5 was created in Florence and recalls the colors and surfaces of the city.
