Sundogs are rainbows on either side of the sun, caused by light passing through ice particles within cirrus clouds. The scene was created from the old airfield, now unused, in Algonquin Park. In this allegorical scene, the human figure notices neither this wonder nor the magnificence of it all. Indeed, his back is turned away from it and he carries a load. Like most of us now, he is unconcerned by all this spectacle and its significance. If he were a modern man, he would be hunched over a cellphone!
