Kaffa is a graphic novel project about the origins of coffee. Kaffa is also a place in Ethiopia where coffee was discovered. Drinking coffee in Ethiopia is part of a bigger coffee culture. Coffee cultures have their own stories and tales. My project illustrates these tales, my process of self-discovery and a way of adapting in a new culture. Coming to America, I became immersed in a new way of life that has shifted my way of thinking and my actions. Kaffa is my way of sharing these experiences through artistic mediums.
