My current painting practice is engaged in what could
be called “modern light” and its relationship to painting’s use of light throughout art history. What I am using as the vehicle to represent modern light is the light that illuminates from monitors, LED, and cell phone screens.
I believe we are now in a new age of light due to the presence of these screens. I am using this pursuit as
a way to get perspective on similarities and differences between the past and the present. As the invention
of electricity changed how business and everyday
life was conducted, so is the impact since entering
into the digital age.
