My work explores my identity as an Asian male and how elements of my life have shaped and affected it. The thick paint application refers to the building of identity as well as the objectivity of the male forms I depict. The addition of light and shadow to my work portrays secondary personas we create when in different situations, personas that can often weigh on us as we hide our true selves from those around us.
