oil on panel, 2015, 16"w x 20"h x 2.5"d
My current body of oil-on-panel paintings set out to use landscape as a proxy for violence, specifically as it refers to Colombian identity and the way it counterbalances the hybridity of my own identity: hybridity as it refers to the use of landscape as both a platform for referring to archetypal Canadian painting and a stand-in for understanding the cultural violence that has defined a troubled Colombian past. The work serves to reconcile moments of memory and experience as they vacillate between multiple nodes of multiculturalism.
A Daimler Company
Due to the building guidelines that are in place in response to the COVID-19 situation, we are unable to install a new art exhibit in our Farmington Hills, Michigan and Fort Worth, Texas offices.
Thankfully, the majority of artists who currently have their work on display in our Michigan and Texas locations have graciously allowed us to continue to do so through the spring of 2021. We would like to extend a huge thank you to those artists and we look forward to continuing with a new exhibition in the summer of 2021.
