A scratch can ruin a lifetime of work, but I embrace such marks to create my art. The surface is covered with paint only to be removed to reveal what is underneath. The lines can be seen as “strikes”, a mode of editing that stems from my need for self correction. The resulting marks are a series of conscious, aggressive actions that share in both between beauty and ruin.
