I use the metaphor of antiquated rowboats or canoes to explore the power of contemporary romance. The vessels contain the emotions about which the paintings speak. They appear adrift on expansive seascapes. The boats cast shadows and leave reflections of moments from my romantic past. Untethered Heart reveals the moment when the risk of falling in love is taken.
