Oil paint, 2016, 72”w x 36”h
As an environmental artist, I focus on geomorphology, the study of how the environment changes the landscape. My practice examines erosion, water and ice. I gravitate toward patterns that are commonly found repeating in nature: fractals, meanders, spots and cracks. I work with these ideas, using the materiality of oil paint to mimic the erosion of the landscape by environmental factors.
