This fibrous ceramic piece is seemingly weak yet whole with its skinny, threadlike strands of clay. One would think it would be delicate and fragile. The binding and firing of these meager lines comes together to form a solid piece. Using the clay in a nontraditional way results in an unusual visual effect that creates a differing perspective and supports the versatility of the material. Though breakable and meek, the form exists and stands.
