Remains is a collection of paper-mâché sculptures that represents the impact our consumerist society has on the environment. Through an exploration of processes and materials, paper is treated and manipulated to appear like wood again. These pieces portray different types of trees and celebrate their unique characteristics. The intention of this work is to maintain an awareness of the negative effect overconsumption has on natural resources and to inspire a creative reuse of mass-produced items.
