After reconsidering an accumulation of photographic printing trials from the darkroom, I have reclaimed tests and misprints for reinterpretation. These usually discarded process prints are instead viewed as material with the potential for transformation and to generate new meaning. Mental Map Triptych explores our capacity to create personal maps of a place based on memory. Each construction represents a different vantage point and its unknown, possibly limitless trajectory. The visible additive and subtractive method of working references the subtle shifts between presence and absence.
