My work questions what a photograph is and what it can be. I’m interested in the history of abstraction in painting and photography and the mediums’ relationship to one another. As the still image has shifted from film to mainly digital, it has caused a divide between the two ways of working in photography. I’m investigating the anxiety that exists regarding the loss of tactility and/or alchemy in analog production.
