I have this feeling of being an outsider in the sense that there’s no culture that I neatly fit into. Through everyday objects, I’ve been exploring how to navigate a place and the different markers of the culture within this place. Home Depot has become so much a part of my everyday routine that sometimes I’ll blank out and accidentally end up there without even meaning to. I like the idea of making a nonfunctional object from something that is seemingly unimportant but an integral tool for what we do.
