Tension in the anxious condition and the uncertainty inherent in beauty speak to my cultural experiences as a wanting and desiring being. Femininity, horror, destruction and mutilation manifest themselves in sites of representation. In this painting I am cultivating and channeling the sublime through the personal experience of the epic and brutal Northern landscape. The icy terrain of this ethereal fortress consuming itself is a composite of romantic layers, visualizing a multidimensional organ mutually occurring in humans and in the greater expanse.
